Membership Information
Membership Eligibility Requirements:
- Proof of acceptance by the Ontario Ministry of Finance as an appraiser designated by OMF to produce the official document of value for the purpose of taxation of a vehicle 20 years or older which is to be licensed in Ontario.
- Final sample copy of applicant appraiser's work, including printed vehicle identification and ownership, analysis/documentation of condition, leading to a researched and professional estimate of the vehicles value (documented comps) plus at least six photographs documenting the condition and appearance.
- One letter of reference from a recognized insurance broker or carrier specializing in classic or collector cars in Ontario.
- One letter of qualifying experience, training, credentials or licenses indicating ability or expertise in the assessment and evaluation of classic and collector cars in Ontario.

Benefits included with the Registry:
- Display logo, affiliation and certification on all correspondence and advertisements by members.
- Member website with full list of members, locations, contact information and existing web-site inclusion when one already exists. Access to site development when needed.
- Insurance brokers and companies in Ontario now expect that you belong to a professional auto appraisers' organization. Prior to ACAAR, you had only one choice. Now, you can use ACAAR logo and affiliation as a professional membership and tax deduction.
- Access to assistance from associate members with specific expertise with certain makes and models. Referral and reciprocation when required by location or need.
- Periodic meetings with representatives of the major insurance brokers in the classic and collector car insurance industry to review new and or complicated standards.
Membership Annual Cost and Renewal Fees
The total cost of membership is $45.00 CND per year. The fee is due upon acceptance into the Registry and at the same cost per year from then on.
The total amount of membership fees is spent each year on the design and maintenance of the Registry’s website and the cost of advertisements in trade magazines.
Non-profit association, leadership and accountability provided by a board of directors responsible for an annual financial report as well process and progress reports to all members at least once a year.
